Before human set his foot
here, Mother Nature had already done a good job: crystal clear emerald-colored
waters and with the right... depth (!), white sand with uniform grains, as if it
has passed through a sieve, as well as a wide area of shady pine trees had
already composed here a picture that could even be described as archetypal! A
picture that equaled the most attractive descriptions of "Children" Literature for
places far away, further than the dreams that used to haunt us, with castaways found
and lost treasures. It has been several years since the treasure was found - at
least here - and as it was proven, the treasure was the place itself! Since
then, that is, since 1982, the human intervention on this area, careful,
methodical and with respect to the environment, as well as to the needs of the modern
man, has obtained its own name: "Armenistis" Camping site. The people of "Armenistis"
have created this camping site fully aware that they should preserve the wildlife
as much as possible. They did not cut off a single tree and enriched the
existent vegetation only with local selections.
